Multi-million dollar, double-decker jet – 550 passengers-capable – unparalleled luxury and sophistication – million-dollar campaign to promote its appeal…. And what do these ‘sophisticated’ passengers watch on TV

I'm sure Boeing will have the 747-8 in fleet service before that.
As I recall, the 747-8 is 50% more fuel efficient, twice the range and triple the payload than that eurocrap.

My brother-in-law is the co-pilot for Emerites (Singapore) Airlines. They bought him a house in Dubai and pay him $250K salary along with a lot of other perks. And, because he lives in Dubai...he has no taxes. He will get promoted to pilot on the next A 380 they get. And, he is a white dude. :D

I work for a large overnight express company headquartered in Memphis.
We recently canceled our Airbus freighter orders and went with the Boeing 777. I think we get our first one in about 2 years.

I've done the same. Actually prefer a MD series aircraft over Boeing. I worked at McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach from 1986-2001. Dont remember which year Boeing bought them out.

We're still flying them. Except for about 40 727's we're all wide bodies now.
I remember when we got the MD-11. It was a big deal for us.
I talked to a mechanic at our Newark Ramp a few years ago. He said he remembered when they got their first 727. After loading Falcons for years he said they all wondered how they would ever fill a 727 with freight. :D
We fly four wide bodies a day in there now. :D

I was referring to the Sopwith Camel not the Middle East:D . I have a cousin that is a pilot for American and was on the London hop but now has Hawaii, makes good money.

Dont think there many passenger MD11's out there anymore. Think most have been bought by the fright companies and converted to freighters.

Do you wear a MedicAlert braclet that says, "Attention LifeFlite: Do not transport in non Bell/Boeing aircraft."?

Still would prefer to fly Boeing or McDonnell Douglas aircraft but not going to make a huge deal over it these days. Was different when worked for them.

The French are so insecure in their manliness that they had to put prosthetic boobs in the cockpit to feel better about themselves... :D

Airbus likes to call them"instinctive/intuitive push buttons", otherwise know as TOGA buttons. (takeoff/go around).
That slide out tray is really cool, holds a lap top really nice or my favorite use, balancing my checkbook
