I fixed the link, the one on there now should take you directly to the site with the boat. We currently owe 89,260 on the boat. Ive talked with the bank and they are willing to take a short sale. They wont tell me a price that they will settle for, just that I need to fax in a purchase agreement and they will either approve it, or deny it. Im guessing somewhere in the high 70's would be reasonable.

Deffinately, she is looking for another job. We are also wanting to have kids sometime when the finances get a little more stabilized, so we will probably be back in an ultra in a few years. Will be a boat bitch for the next couple summers though.

We saw you at the sandbar during the week last summer. We ran down to Havasu with you I think:idea: Good luck, nice boat. NSF

Yeah, that was one of the nicest days we've had out there. I believe there were only 4-6 boats at the sandbar. I love weekday boating!

just curious on the short sale part of this if it works like the short sale on a house. Is the bank going to 1099 you for the difference between the amount owed and the amount the boat is sold for? Just an FYI that you may owe some taxes after the short sale.

Depends on the bank, some will report as a voluntary repo, some will report the remainding balance until paid (but report the account as closed). Others will sue for the remaining balance. However, with this bank they told me that it would be a zero balance, with a "paid as agreed" rating as long as I keep making the on time payments. The way they look at it, they can take a little loss in me getting rid of it, or they can take a huge loss in not getting payments, trying to find the boat, hoping the boat is still in completed condition, and then paying a broker fee to sell the boat.... all for less then what they would have taken with a short sale in the first place. I dont want to get rid of the boat, but when there is no income comming in, its either my house or toys.

Get that in writing before you do it. Sorry for the hard times:(
My BIL tried to short sale his Toy Box when he got divorced and the bank would not do it.
