Old gas stains on side of boat at gas tank vent from overflow. Boat is white, stain is like a light brown, from overflowing gas out the vent. Anyone know of a trick to rub this out?? Any and all help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

if you have enamel paint take the gas lid off and get some automotive polish. not polishing compound(too abrasive) and hit it with a high speed buffer ever so gently and it should come off. went through this last year with mine and it turned out fine.

If it's gelcoat, the stain will probably buff out. If it's paint, I don't know....

Thanks guys, buffed out pretty good, still a hint of the old stain. Any preferences on what wax to use when buffing it out? Again, thanks for the info.

I had a gas stain on my boat, it's painted & Clear Coated...We put some gas on a cotton cloth & rubbed it till it was gone ..It made it like New.. :D
