Any one have or know where I can find some info on an old Biesemeyer Hydro? Think it's a 68 model, don't really know. 16ft, 4 stringers, heavy as all get out. Thinking there's not too many around, wondering if it's because it just didn't perform that well due to it's hull/weight/length?? Any input is much appreciated.

I don't know anything about that boat, but it's definitely cool as hell!
There used to be a guy at Don Pedro that had an old Beezer with a similar top to that one. I don't know if it had that bottom though.
Neat boat!

That is one cool boat. Don't think it is a biesemeyer though. Could be a Pierson. Would be a cool project. Put an old 389 Pontiac in it with a hallcraft V-drive. Bet you would turn heads anywhere you go.

pretty confident it's a Biesemeyer. It has the Biesemeyer script on the side, a tag in the back and a Title that indicate Biesemeyer. Piece of Nostalgia that will make a great water rod :D
Thanks for any and all info!

I have never seen a Biesemeyer Hydro before. With all that it must be. What a cool find. Send your Dad out more often. Cool boat. Do a thread on the build. My guess would be early 60's. My 60 flat had the same shape deck. Piersons look the same. Cool Boat. Definitely unique.
Hope you build it.

An old Biesemeyer 4 point hydro as they were called. My dad's friend used to run one back in the early 60's when my dad had a 14ft Biesemeyer. Pretty cool old photos.

My first boat was a 1960 Biesemeyer 4 point Hydro. It was 18' though. Same deal, 4 stringers, and very heavy. Mine was a foul handling death trap, but it probably could have been cured by re-rigging it. It listed to the left almost all the time and occasionally would sit up on the prop, bow steer, and make an abrupt left turn that would nearly swamp the thing. Originally, mine had a tri-power 409 and velvet drive in it, with a hall craft v-drive, but I bought it less motor and built a 383 SBC for it. Here are some pics...

I don't see any sponsons on yours ducky like the two above. I see a little sponson underneath, kinda like an old 4 point powercat, but they don't drop down like the ones on these two from the sides of the hull.
another shot from the CL boat, it was listed as an 18 footer too.

Mine was the first rendition. They took a flat, added sponsons up front, and carved the tunnel section in the rear. In later years (after 1962 I think) They sucked the chines behind the sponsons in and up, making it more like a real hydro. I assume in an attempt to reduce the tail lift that made mine bow steer. If I can find any pics of the bottom I'll post them. Most of the history information I am quoting came from Harlan Orrin, and Julian Pettengill. These were the only two people I could find back when I owned that boat that even knew what it was.

Thanks for the help.
This boat's first numbers on the ser no are 63....assume it's a 1963??
It also measures close to 18 feet, it was advertised as shorter.
