http://www.vacationstogo.com/fastdeal.cfm?deal=21389

Tahiti!! And French Polynesia. We loved it, very beautiful. But maybe a little bit pricier. Barbados sounds like it may be cool.

Have fun. Are you newly wed, or nearly dead????
Never been on a cruise.....just doesn't sound fun to me. Would much rather fly to a destination, and explore than sit and eat on a ship all day......Not that there's anything wrong with sitting and eating all day, but even that I'd rather do on a white sandy beach somewhere. ;)

The Tahitian Princess we went on was small, only about 670 passengers, about 300+ crew. What's Windstar like?

148 people and 85 crew. No formal attire allowed, no select time for eating, they'll bring anything on the menu to your room. Oh and no kids!!!!!!
I've been on 7 and absolutely love them.

Wow, that is small. Pretty cool sounding, laidback. But do you get bored? Is there much to do on the ship itself? How's the food? Don't you feel the movement a lot on a small ship like that?

When I went on a cruise I said "damn that's a lot of river trips right there." I didn't want to go at all, but with a bunch of people it's fun as hell. Especially if you like to eat.

Imagine this. You are on a ship, at sea. No land in sight. Days before making port. 2 WEEKS before final disembarking.
No where to run. You meet your neighbor in the suite next to you.
He says "Hi, I'm Boatsandblondes, we'll be together for 2 whole weeks!".

The food is excellent like lobster...need I say more? You stop somewhere different each day so you're not on the boat much. They have a casino, shopping and tons of room for bathing, no fighting for chairs! They also drop anchor in private coves so there isn't the stinky port in your face rather a beautiful cove. You can rent canoes and jet skiis right off the back of the boat. The movement is felt more but they do have stabilizers. On the crew's days off they are allowed to party with guests so you become friends with them as well as other cruisers. They usually have an all day pig roast one of the days. We end up playing volleyball with the crew and getting tipsy!!

I like it...it seems to work for me. When we got married, (and oh, going on 5 years now, WOOHOO!!!) I wanted badly to go to Tahiti...I wanted one of those bungalos over the water with the hole in the floor for looking at the fish...but when my agent got back to me with a price...I said wow....it was like 7000 for a week.....thats a lot....seems the airfare is killer...so I instead went with Princeville in Kauaii...great choice...we had a good time...but since we have gotten married, she has had lasik surgury, and has discovered she LOVES to snorkel...and maybe someday scuba as well..so these cruises are a great way to get to a lot of places and see a variety of different reefs and nature....you COULD sit and eat all day, and some do...bu tthe best is getting off the ship and exploring...if you look closely at the schedule, it's actually pretty grueling...a different port each day...no time to eat more than a granola bar as you run off the ship to meet up with your guides for the day...cruising is a LOT of fun..as long as you know which lines are good, and HOW to cruise...there is a science to it, thats for sure....hope this long winded answer helps.....:D :D :D

It's called being back in school for her masters, so she is not teaching this year, rather, going to school and subbing...so her time is her own...next year, may not be so easy....then again, we started a home based business, and it's coming along nicely, so maybe she won't have to work...I got some great things cooking....:D

If you do Alaska, do it soon....so that you don't ask yourself why didn't we do this ten years ago?? :D
Alaska is breathtaking, but any earlier in the year than say, June, and the weather is a crapshoot. But do the Sea/land tour...part of the package now with the different cruises is a rail tour to Denali.....wow, what a trip...and, because it is a specially designed train..the cars are unique to the Alaska trains...here is a pic.....let me know what you think....

Wow. I am gonna ask you for help when we pick a cruise. We would like to take our 3 kids (ages 6. 8 and 9) on one this next year. We have never been on one, but it seems like a great way to see a lot of places. :)

Mrs. 20....thanks for your trust...though I have never been on one..can I suggest the Disney Cruise line?? They are geared towards children your age, and they have a full range of things for the kids to do, leaving you and your husband a little time off also...here is a link..let me know what you think....
http://www.vacationstogo.com/fastdeal.cfm?deal=14857
They leave out of Port canaveral, so you could get there a day or two early, maybe go see the space center, then afterwords, I'm sure you would like to go to Orlando..there was a place in Orlando, let me find it, where you can swim with Dolphins...something everyone should do at least once..they are graceful, beautiful, amazing animals....and being around them is magical also...but back to the cruise..here is a link to Disney cruises....

So far, we are leaning towards the 10 day cruise...14 is a lot, and if you look at the schedule..you get almost no time to yourself, new place every day...best cruises have a little at sea time....

Mrs. 20...do me a favor...don't try to search out the cruise fares on the Disney website, do it on another site, or call your agent, or use the one I went to. When you try to use the Disney site to look at fares....it goes for the highest cat. possible....not good......the site I use came in at a MUCH better fare...sorry...:(

We also love Princess cruises, we have sailed 4 times in the Caribean and also in Mexico. We always do the 10 day as 7 seems too short. We are doing the 15 day Hawaii in March leaving from LA on the Diamond. Dollar for dollar you can't beat a cruise.

Have you actually booked a cruise through the above company? Those prices are unreal, $999 for Windstar? That wouldn't cover the food! Good find if so...
Also, meant to tell ya, if you haven't been to Costa Rica you should go, you sound like you enjoy exploring and this place is the best for it! Out of everywhere I've been Costa is my favorite!!

I still haven't learned how to multi post sorry, I try and click the dealio at the right but I obviously am clueless..... (Jbb no jokes!)
I haven't been up that way on a cruise, would like to one day. I've been all through the Med over to Greece and down to Egypt, and then all over Europe inland over as far as Romania.
Come visit the tigers anytime. Yes, I miss Eric too, he had the best personality, the most fun to photograph! Midas is pretty close in personality, he's the cinnamon tiger I post sometimes..
