I've noticed the nose of my boat bounces up and down a chit load going down the road. Does yours ? Anyone had a trailer break at or near the tongue from this ?
A couple other local 21' owners have the same issue. It's scary looking in the mirror at the nose bouncing up and down that much. I can't rememeber the manu of my trailer, but they're still in bussiness in Cali.

I Have a Competitive trailer, mine will bounce dramatically
if I fail to put a ratchet strap from the bow eye to the crossmember.

I have a competitive trailer on mine and converted the front from a drop bar to a welded on arm with a roller and a winch.
No problems of bouncing at all;)

Here on the East Coast a winch and some sort of bow roller(for a tunnel) would be a must for these roads. I see pics of just the arms that attach to the bow eye and out here that hull would be all over the place with these terrible New England Road. When I redid my trailer I got a new winch and also welded up some scrap to hold the rubber V-mount as you can see in the pic. I guess with a tunnel you would just get a roller like Wet was stating.

yeah took the 40 to needles and it put a nice bend in the bar. just think of it as training your tunnel to get more lift:D

I was thinking about adding a ratchet down on the center rail. Now it seems like a will do instead of may do. Thanks guys !

I pull my toward the hitch so its not such a rigid
pull, it allows it to move a little but stops the bounce.
I'm thinking of adding a winch and bow stop whenever
its time to redo the trailer

I had the same bouncing problem I bet anyone with a bar comming from rear forward does a little anyway. The way my boat sits on the trailer it was hard for me to make it to line up with the bar by pulling by hand, so I added a small winch slightly in front of the bar. Now I just crank it up the last couple of inches pin up the bar and give the winch a half turn and it is as solid as it gets! At first I didn't want a winch but it makes loading my boat so much easier and solid when towing. I will allways have one.
