Just recently purchased a 78 18' Bahner jet with a 460 Ford. Does anyone have any history on Bahner and what molds they were using?

I know a guy that has a bahner as well. He isnt on the boards though. If no one else comes through for you, I'LL ask him tomorrow when I see him and let you know what he say's.

I have one of the last Bahners built, it is an 87 and it's a 21ft closed bow with a 350/alpha1 combo. I am pretty sure my boat is a splash of an Eliminator (I've seen many different boats that look like it), but I can't say what your hull is. I really like my boat, it has held up real well and looks like the day it came off the show room floor. It performs well, with a top speed of 60mph, and drives real nice. The rigging seems very comprable to other boats built at this time; to be honest I don't have one bad thing to say about it. I swear if I updated the upholstery you'd think it was built in the late 90's

Don, just click the "image" button below the text box and paste the URL into the box that opens. Don't waste time trying to type code.

Don, if left clicking the image button doesn't do anything, type URL . Don't leave spaces between the brackets and the URL.

Bottom line about bahners is that they're great dependable boats that perform well. I know a lot of people who own them and love them. I'd like to seriously congradulate you on your purchase

Mine looks a lot different, mainly it's bigger. Looks like you got a sweet boat there, I'll try to post pics of mine later.

How did the daycruisers perfom? I'm looking at picking up a 21 foot open bow. My wife and two kids in a 19ft Daytona is getting crampt.
Is bahner out of business

I heard the owner is in jail for taking money and orders and not building the boats

Rod Bahner was found dead along side a road in the desert.
For a while in the late 80's and early 90's there was rumored to be a contract on his life.
His early boats were built pretty well, his 18 footer which was raced quite a bit was a splash of the 18 Rogers bottom with a different deck, and he had a loyal following of customers. His later boats, you couldn't give me. I repaired more than my share of his stuff when I worked at Advantage. The owner of Advantage, also murdered, was best friends of Rodneys, and we fixed tons of Bahners there while he was in hiding.
