I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that they are providing a simple thermistor sender with their gauge...what you would use in water or oil, but not for air since air temps can change so fast. The gauges I have use a pyrometer thermocouple just like for an exhaust gas temp gauge...totally different technology and information.
On edit: Yup, it comes with a thermistor designed for use in liquid. Problem with these sensors are that they respond VERY slow in an air environment. I wouldn't use one in any boosted application, which is what this gauge is really for. Here's the install page from Nordskog where it shows a single input from the sender. A thermocouple requires two wires (alumel and chromel) to get the signal to the gauge amplifier. http://www.nordskogperformance.net/techsupport/pdf/auto/streetdigital/M9009.pdf

Didn't put a buy it now on that auction...but I have two of these. $150 + shipping if you want one. I'll end the auction early if you want two...$275 shipped for both.

The one on Ebay sold. One left. It goes on Ebay later today or tomorrow if no one here gets it. :)
