Those were 16's. I chose this size so that I could use stock tires and stock inner rim on the back. I bought the truck and did this to it right away so tires were all still brand new.

Here's my "old" one that I just sold to SchiadaTime:
http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/front.jpg
Here's my new one that is, as we speak, getting dropped 6/8. I just left the place and they were just about to do the C-notch. It will get auto-level airbags on the rear and MBRP exhaust:

Not possible.
Smallest 19.5 is 32". Duallys came with either 225/75-16s (29.8") 215/85-16s (30", almost same). Even my 225/75-17s are only 30.75"
If you indeed have 19.5s, the tires are not stock diameter.

The pic is at the top of my truck with brand new 19.5's with 30.5 inch tall tires. So yes it is possible. WHY did you give up that super clean dually for the UGLIST chevy truck ever made?

Did you say 'old' or "OLD"? Back in March of 1979 when I lowered this truck, (new in Nov 78) everyone asked me if I was crazy. Now everyone (not on medicare) lowers them. HA HA!

Wow! B30, I saw it there today about 3:15.
I wondered if it was yours. I was surprised you would notch a 1ton.
Beautiful truck. It will look great.
SCFab, I saw you running late last Sunday. Congrats on the racing!

My first dually. 1989 Chevy Silverado. Bell tech 5/7 drop, GMC grill, Billet specialties steering wheel, roll pan (no rear bumper) and hidden hitch etc.

I guess this thread did get a little crazy, but hey, that's what the guy asked for!
Thanks. Yeah, Chris and Juan are taking care of me. Looks like we are going to put it in the Boat & RV show in Feb, at the Fairgrounds.
Every one-ton that is pictured here that is this low has a C-notch. My last one, that SchiadaTime has now is C'd. I pulled everything with that truck, and hauled 3/4 of a chord of wood in the bed - plus pulled another 8' pickup bed full of wood every year. The notch never moved.
This is my first experience with DJM products. Of course, I haven't driven it yet, but I will say that the workmanship looks great. I have always been a BellTech man, but that wasn't possible for this one.

WHY did you give up that super clean dually for the UGLIST chevy truck ever made?
First, thanks for the compliment on my last truck. SchiadaTime called me the other day and said he was towing StreetTruck Mag's work trailer out to SEMA with it. Asked me about some misc. stuff. So, it is out in Vegas right now, still pulling it's little heart out.
I first agreed with your outlook on the new ones. I wasn't sure what I was going to do. But, it grew on me. Lots of stuff to change and/or paint, so it'll work out.
The fit/finish of the truck is phenominal, as any of the new-body-style owners should agree. You can see that GM really tried to bring the Tundra/Titan interior into a real truck. Inside, you would almost think you were driving a Camry or Lexus, but outside you're pulling a freight train.

Yeah when I was doing lots of car audio. It would blow my mind to rip the interior out of a brand new car and cut into the factory wiring LOL

Man that truck is gonna be killer when done, one thing I would suggest is painting the mirrors I saw a white one the other day with painted mirrors and it really helped clean it up. Can't wait to see pics of yours finished, at first I didn't like them but after seeing them in person I was hooked.

Thanks. I think so, also. I will be painting the mirrors and the "vents" on the hood. Plus the front and rear bumper areas that are black.
Considering the tops of the bed rails also, since they are black plastic. We'll see.

It was hard to see it being cut on the first one and just as hard on the second one. I'll give you that, also. But, since I pulled and loaded the last one over and over for the last 9 years with no movement back there - I'm good with it.

I love old duallies. I bought Beer-30's old '98 and she is a solid truck. I towed my lifted Nissan Titan project out to SEMA this year with it and hauled around 9000 pounds with it and it did awesome. They are the coolest looking tow rigs.
