best x-aust gasket

I know this is lame but what is the best exaust gasket ? copper, lead. and while I'm askin stupid questions,is there a difference between oval and rect. port heads. exaust gasket (bbc):confused: wise?

I've run the stock mercs with the stainless mesh forever and have NEVER had an issue. Easy to get quick as well.

I like the Cometics. If your running headers you need to stick with the large round port gaskets. If you have logs you can use the square ports. Any of the aftermarket gaskets with metal impregnation will last a long time in a boat app.

I was skeptical when I 1st tried this stuff and after "tourcher testing" some of it when it arrived, I doubt I will ever run another gasket for exhaust......
You have to custom cut it but that only takes about 5 MAYBE 10 minutes with a dremel.

I have tt bassetts. I pulled my motor saterday and the "stock" gaskets I had on there kind of "welded" themselves to my alum. heads. I was kind of curious if the exaust ports were identical between oval and rect port heads. I've heard you guys mention cometics b-4 where do you get those, and are they reusable?

The reason I asked, was because I have run Basset's for years with stud's and brass nut's and no gasket's. VHT high temp silicone. Now Ultra Black.
It works great and have never had a failure. It cycles through many Nitrous passes and has lived just fine.:D

I dont use gaskets on my logs either...never had a problem. Hi temp silicone has worked for me...
