I'm running on 3 hours of sleep so I'm even less sharp than normal....
.... so there was a movie in the late 70s or perhaps early 80s about a rock band. It was a comedy and a good movie, as I recall. The movie featured a song that was a hit on radio and is still a classic song.
I remember a bit in which they were bragging because their amps went to 11 and other bands were using amps that went to 10....
What's the movie? This should be completely obvious but I can't think of it.

LOL, I'm on my lunch. I eat in the classroom. I stay away from the teachers lounge. All they do is complain about kids and gossip in there.
It appears as the new "Guitar Hero III" will allow players to turn the volume levels up to 11. At least according to Wiki.

I remember a bit in which they were bragging because their amps went to 11 and other bands were using amps that went to 10....
Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?
Marty DiBergi: I don't know.
Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.
Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.
Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?
Nigel Tufnel: [pause] These go to eleven.

I was just reading the Wikipedia page on Spinal Tap (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spinal_Tap). Funny stuff.
Spınal Tap has had a succession of drummers, all of whom they claim have died under odd circumstances: one in a "bizarre gardening accident"; another "choked on vomit," (although it was never determined whose vomit it was, as "you can't really dust for vomit")
:D
Drummers
* Joe "Mama" Besser (1982) Quit the band, claiming he "couldn't take this 4/4 shit"; according to an MTV interview with Spinal Tap in November 1991, he disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
"couldn't take this 4/4 shit" :D :D :D
