...this is the first year in about 6 straight I'm not having a party :(
I think they just about work the same, maybe a slight less fog with warm...one year I plugged up all my drains in the yard and packed them with dry ice :)

I think you need to checks its temp with your tongue first;)
If I remember it doesn't matter much because the hot water cools so fast.
Be careful with the tongue though.

Hot water makes more smoke...+ 5 gallon sparkletts bottle= more bang.

Try putting a heater or heat pad near it to keep it warm and not freeze up.
or... dump some soap in and watch it bubble, and bubble, and bubble (I found out the hard way)

It definitley is more violent in hot water, you don't even have enough time to screw the lid on an aquafina bottle before it blows
<-found that out the hardway a long time ago, luckily i kept a loose grip on it and it didnt hurt.
