Heard an interesting comment by Lou Rawlings on Lou Dobbs today; He said that when everyone with mortgage or loan problems get in trouble, our government will bail out the Savings and Loan (again). Thats about how well you can expect our leaders to help the working people...

Absolutely!!! How is it you think our country will survive? We are headed for some tough times. Dollar is getting weak, inflation is going to kick some butt here in a few months and oil is going out of control and will get worse once Iran comes into play on a military level!! Something needs to happen soon, for the benefit of the country.

It's as simple as FIREING our current government. People of America don't know they have the power to FIRE the government. Why are we heading into tuff times you ask?? Our government is spending to much of your money on B.S. A war that has gotten us nowhere ( and yes I support our troops). It's been proven before that one country can't financialy support another country, and that is what we are doing with Iraq.
Now it's up to us Hot Boat Peeps to get this matter resolved. Come on people lets make history.

OH I agree with you on that one, the answer 0 that I know of. As we have all been told, Freedom isn't Free, even if our own economy pays the ultimate price. I said this in an another post, Americans need to take a big step down in the way they live. You don't need 4 cars when 2 or 1 will do, you don't need a 5 bedroom house when 3 will do. You don't need a 32' boat when a 21' will do. We as a country don't appreciate anything anymore. We are a throw away country. You know I have a 30 year old jet boat that I fixed up to brand spankin new. It will run with the best of them and most of all I don't have a huge boat payment. Most peeps would just let that hull sit and rott away and go buy new, and probably couldn't afford it.

Yeah....life's bitchin' when you're in financial trouble..you've caught in a layoff...you use your boss as a reference for a new place, he tells them your job is secure, and a week after you move in, you get the layoff news....sweet guy, huh?
Sorry, but I had to get it off my chest. My wife and two daughters depend on me bringing the bread home, and now it's the 1st and no house payment and no job...
Yeah, life's grand....

I think we're gonna see a lot of disparity with all the outrageous debt that's out there.
We have to understand that America does not run the world anymore. We’re in decline and China, Asia, India and Eastern Europe are on the up swing. We have 50-100 year old infrastructure. These countries are laying fiber optic cable faster than a fat American can scarf down a pizza. Our way of life is on the decline and to survive with $100+ oil we have to change our way’s or collapse.

Well agreed sir. We do have to make some big changes, and not later, not maybe, but now. We can no longer let MONEY and Power Trips get in the way of us surviving as a nation. When you say collapse, IYO what how long before that would occure.

I see working family's bust their ass to buy a home in BFE so their kids can go to decent schools and so they can accomplish the "American Dream". The easy credit of yester year inflated prices so bad that many people are now up to their necks in debt. Now thing's have turned and people are trying to batten down the hatches but it cost's $65 bucks to fill up the car to get to work. No to mention that 35k toyota camry is worth 17k 2 years later.
Oil price's are out of control because of our weak dollar. And that affects everything we buy.
Everyone needs a roof over their head. Fuel to be productive/ get to work and food to keep themselves nourished. All of those things are at or near record highs today. Inflation!
I’ve made my investments when it made sense to do so. I’m actually better off than I’ve ever been. But I’m starting to see friends buckle under the pressure of all this. Losing their homes and tapped out on credit. Sure it’s their fault but what can you do? I feel terrible for them.
What’s done is done. I have no idea what the future holds for us. I have a hunch that we’ll be disappointed when we find out.

Sorry to hear this brother. Is there any family that can help you along for a bit?? I hate hearing this kind of S**T. I hate to say it but I know the feeling.
I was hit head on by a drunk driver and now I can't walk. Now my wife has to work full time and take care of me full time. This F**ktard took my life away. I was making over $80,000 a year living comfortably and now its PB&J sandwitches and roman noodle 4 times a week. I'm putting all this in a nut shell for ya, and I sucks big time. I hope you find work soon and good luck.

that makes me sick.
Let me say... over here in fla, where we have mainly realestate and construction driving the local economy(versus tech or some other market) it has come so full circle that my own mom who has a traditional home mortgage and business in retail can't even make her monthly nut. Their businesses(pop's included but now passed) have been down since 9/11 is now under ch.7 after the last two years of the housing crap around here. But... I do believe in capitalism and free choice. This stuff is the basis for free education in financial literacy and you can learn, act and move ahead or you can piss moan and bitch. Take your bite of the samich and EXCELL.
WTF is a working family or Working People..? I say the "working" definition has no base of what work is. Follow the average small business which apparently according to several "sources" out there create the largest number of jobs in the US and the working person may "at least" get the OPPORTUNITY to understand the who really works. The difference between somebody who eats breathes and sleeps "work" and some asshole who feels sorry for him or herself for working so much is the difference between a company owner and an employee at an minimum. As a business I ask any of you to take the leap and "add" to this country.
Chris
Oh yeah, fu Q to those of you who feel like you are worth something to your employer. You haven't done shit until you did "it" yourself.
Hmm, I think I'll go surfin tomorrow, "it's" up over on the east coast. Oh yeah, while I'm having "fun" I think I'll figure out how to make more money for the working "bunch." Jelly fish here I arrive...

We may have the power to do so but as a whole (general population) don't even turn out to the polls to vote in enough numbers to make any difference. The apathy in this country is sickening. And further imo a good portion of those who do vote do it only based on the bs that is fed to them on TV ads of candidates bashing one another and do not take the time or effort to really try to learn what a candidate or proposition is really about.

exactly! I got into it a few years ago with one of my wife's best friends. It was during the last election with Gray Davis when I asked who she was going to vote for. She said Gray Davis so I just had to ask why?
She said, "because he's a democrat and so am I"
Me, "that's the only reason? Even though you're a state employee in a division where he was so generous to cut your pay by 5%?"
Her, "that doesn't matter! He's the best Democrat running"
Me, "for my wife's sake, I need to get out of this conversation but, do some homework"
I wish I had a sign to give her!
It's mind boggling the way people think.

I am a renter ....aka....no equity....I just didnt buy when the time is right....and now is the worst time. I am sorry to say, but i am happy to see the market is taking a turn for the worse...maybe it will give me a chance to buy again. i will never be able to afford a single family home in orange county at the current housing rates...you need to make well over $175k to get something decent.
what pisses me off is that people are going out doing these high risk stated income loans on adjustable rates.....so they took the high risk....now their rate is going to go through the roof and cant afford these new payments or their taxes and are going to forclose....they were idiots and now the government is going to step in and bail them out because of their financial stupidity?

This past real estate booms was the first time we didn't jump in and start buying "upscale" again like I did in the past 2 booms.
Instead, we stuck to our plan, held on to our $900 per mo Crackerbox Pallace of a home and bought toys instead.
Our new neighbors all have mortages of around $5.000 to 6.000 per mo + huge taxes and they are REALLY sweating the action in the RE market.
Sadly a few will be gone soon to foreclosure.
Damn it sux.
But they all had affordable house payments before they sold and moved to more expensive digs.
I feel bad for them, but ya make your own luck, and ya make your own bed ya sleep in.

If you'll had a brain in yer heads you'd vote for RIO for dictator for about 10 years and then you could have it back. You'd get a law and order agenda, that was administered fairly to all CITIZENS. You'd have someone that doesn't give a rat's ass about what the rest of the world thinks of us as long as they do it with respect and fear in their hearts. You'd have someone that's not concerned with his legacy or what some liberal will write about him. His agenda is what is good for the USA is good for the world in a trickle-down kinda way first and foremost.
My first act when you elect me is to shut down the UN and we'll escort them to the airport and then auction off the building. Next, I'll put the SCOTUS in their fricken places. What's voted in by the majority of the people is hereby the new basis for constitutionality. Now they can go back to scratchin their balls under neath those sissy skirts.Third, no more electorial college. Enough said on that subject. Forth, IRS, you've got fifty bank pages and 6 months and that's all you got to simplify the tax code and make it fair. Fair my way is he who makes it get's to spend it. Distribution of wealth is a thing of the past. Sixth, term limits,2 -4 year terms for governor, 1 -6 year term for senators and congressmen, 1-10 term for president. When you're out you are out. No outlandish pensions for these thieves.
My foreign policy is as follows. USA first and every one else take a number-by the way it's only printed in English. If you want us to fight a war for you then YOU PAY. Open that fricken oil valve you ragheads as we have about 20 years free oil commin our way.

Ultra26#1, that's what I asked. Why is our gov't busting the backs of the American people when Iraq can fund the war???? There is no reason acceptable that every ship loaded with oil that leaves Iraq doesn't sail directly to the USA. We'll just deduct that much off the balance till this war is paid for. Outside of very few, the Iquackies were living in hovels long before we got there so they wouldn't know the difference except "they'd be free" and have no fear of having their heads lopped off.
There is not one politician that cares more for this country than they do about their own legacy in history or their checking account balance. Even though they go about it in different ways they are all whores suckling off the American citizen in one way or another.

I believe it doesn't make the difference it should and could if more than 30 or 40 % of the people gave a shit and actually voted intelligently vs. following party lines or bs TV ads designed to play on their vulnerable emotions. Voting is the most powerful tool the people have in shaping the country and what kind of people run it yet the most ignored and misused imo.
