Makes you wonder what someone is thinking when they "think" they are "customizing" a vehicle.
Idiots should not be allowed to purchase vintage Corvettes as they are left to be restored not butchered!!!!
Good luck trying to get $33K in that condition........

That is someone's bad trip. Have a 67 stingray and will never part with it. Believe me you can still find some out there with a lot less aggravation than that tragedy. If anyone reading this is considering - please reference the I hate women thread :D

" CORVETTE CONDITION The body on this car has been modified with four fender flares and an extra tail light."
http://www.vettehound.com/geo/images/2262764.jpg
What a hackjob. What a pity to do on such a classic car if left in pure stock condition.
Never understood making your '66 & '67 look like a '65 with the extra tail lite either. Nor tearing up the wheel wells.

It reminds me of the old 'Vette Dennis Hopper drove in "King of the Mountain".... Hell, I'd drive it. :D
King of the Mountain (http://www.sd455.com/moviekingmountain.htm)
http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/moviekingmountain2_Custom_.jpg
Also found this little bit of trivia when looking for pics of the car... :D
Dennis Hopper actually drove his character's Corvette on at least one instance to get footage for the film's climactic race. The vehicle was fitted with three compact Arri cameras, each with a three hundred foot roll of film installed and each connected to an in-cabin switch allowing Hopper to turn them on when he started and off when the film ran out.
On the day he was to get the footage, Hopper was reportedly very drunk; he'd spent the day in his trailer drinking beer. Despite crew protests, director Noel Nosseck allowed Hopper to drive the car, and according to crew members he entered the car with a fresh six-pack. After taking off, he spent almost an hour in the vehicle despite there being only enough film for a few minutes of footage, and returned with the six-pack empty.

Driving without shoes would be OK (hey what ever turns you on). I just hope they were not taking it one step further in the desire to get that feeling. Some middle age hairy guy driving naked would be the one that would scare me.
Now that I have planted that mental image in your mind, my work here is done.

Those are typical mods for the late 60's early 70's to those cars. A lot of guys did the fender flares with the three tail light job. The front bumper removal was something that happen often as well. Remember these people didn't think "boy I bet somebody is really going to want this car stock in thirty years" like all you guys with lifted trucks. Are you thinking " boy this lift kit is really going to f somebody up when they restore this duramax in 2042". The guy that built that car was probably the pimp on the block when he brought that bad boy home from the shop in 1969. Somebody should buy it and paint it Orange like JBB is going to paint his cobra, and then park it in the drink like JBB did his Jeep.........

Andy is correct,
I remember one of the car mags used to do a special issue every year that featured some of the top cars from the show circut and everything had that style interior. I think it carried over from the van guys.

It does not say the mileage, but I'm guessing this car was modified in the first or second year of its life. Rustfree, original drive train, gauges, seat frames, power windows. Looks as though it needs new fenders, interior fabric, plus a new paint job. I'm guessing $15-18k would make this vette a great sports car...cheaper than a new vette. I'd say if all their description is true, this would make a nice C2. They did say it has Factory Air. Too bad it only has the 327 option. If it were a 1966/67 427, with air and the manual tranny, it would go for $200K plus at Barrett Jackson.:jawdrop: :jawdrop: :jawdrop:

L88 4sp's are bringing big money. Price is high, but this car, if actually a matching number car, would not be a difficult restore. A factory air 4sp car is worth money. Shame it was a green/green car.

Hooli,
That's what makes the sellers price so off. Probabally a 25K to 30K resto and I don't see it as being a 65K car, even if rated in the high 90 point range.
BTW, how are you doing with your smokin?

The seller is just reaching.. I would probably offer him 22ish sight unseen. They're nice cars and there are quite a few in 80% condition for 40 - 45K that only need paint and a few cosmetics. nothing that 15 k wouldnt take care of for a keeper.
I'm looking for one right now ..that's how I stumled on that add.. the search continues.
The "not" smoking is going pretty good actually..better than I thought it would be..worst is still morning coffee.. so i have to wait an hour for cofee to change that habbit.... i feel alot different though..its amazing..i can actually smwel my coffee LOL
