Best way to Havasu [Archive]

I am planning a short notice trip to Havasu as I need to get my fix before winter arrives. I will be flying in from Nashville and have the option of flying into either Phoenix or Vegas on Southwest
It looks like it is approx 200 miles from Phoenix and 150 from Vegas.
Is one of these two routes considerably easier than the other?
I would rent a car.

Vegas is easier...follow 95 at Railroad Pass down thru Searchlight and on to I-40 thru Needles...

The response above is 100% right on. Thrifty car rental should be 17 bucks a day now, if you stay in Vegas and are ok with south of Strip, stay at South Point, abpout $90 a night, 42" plasmas in rooms, pretty much smoke free gaming.

some flights are actually coming into Bullhead/Laughlin airport...might be a long shot but worth a try...wish I had more details

Don't get sucked into the speed all the way, you absolutely must slow down in Searchlight!. There will be a dummy cop parked in a black and white, but there will be a live one too. When it says 25, be sure you're under. The rest of the trip go as fast as you dare...
I got pulled over going w/b right before the Az/CA border. I was doing 78 in a 65. I thought Az was 75. He gave me a warning. Got lucky. :D

I always see people pulled over between Boulder & Searchlight.
