Can anyone here recommend a shop to bring my 12 degree case for a rebuild? Not that I'm against sending it down to So Cal or Arizona, but it'd be a switch to know of a reputable outfit here near Santa Rosa.
Thanks in advance.

Beautiful stuff! Makes the grey and oiled piece I have draining out in back even more of an eyesore.
Hey somewhat off topic, but in noticing the rails on the stringers, I asked a question in another thrad about engine mounting height to keep the drive line all happy.
I've got a Hallet 21 cruiser that had a 455/Velvet drive and now is going to have a 454/T400. At what height along the stringers do I mount the rails so as to keep the pan off the bottom and/or keep the angles at 1-2 degrees?
Am I correct that the engine and tranny are on the same plane? So if I mount the rails so the pan is 2" off the bottom of the hull, the engine and trans are level is it then a matter of realigning the Casale?
Thanks in advance, love the photos!

Icarus, Your engine and trans will be lined up with(At the same angle) as the top v-drive shaft. Your motor rails can be about 3/4 inch down from top of stringer. Then motor plates cut to achieve your engine angle.
You can lower the engine some. If u-joint closest to v-drive has some angle, it will work fine.
If you would like more explanation please call me. Tom Bentley 530-885-0531

In those few pics I cannot seem to locate a whirlaway on either...
Am I blind, or is the whirlaway located inside that lower case/cover directly
attached to the bottom output shaft connected to the V-drive case-?
thanks,

Man even if those boats are trailer queens (not saying that they are, I have no idea) they are still absolutely beautiful and awesome to look at. I especially enjoy seeing the homegrown innovations that people come up with.
