As long as both WAPS speak Italian! If One WAP was say born in Germany that would make him a kraut WAP ..and they likely would not understand each other. Now..if the Other WAP was born in Isreal ..they would could sing to each other ..Jew Wap ba ditty ditty..Jew WAP ba ditty ditty .....
Hope this helps!

WAP hard wired to the router with the DHCP turned off on the WAP. then the DHCP for the router should take care of IP addresses for both units.
It may be possible to connect the WAP to the Wireless router ,wireless if you set the IP range on the WAP to coincide in sequence with the router.
as an example, The router has a range 192.168.2.1 ~ 192.168.2.100 set the WAP DHCP range 192.168.2.100 or 101 ~ 192.168.2.200. Sometimes it gets a little tricky when you have two wireless units trying to run a DHCP server.
Are you trying to cover a large area or just more computers ?

That sure as heck would save him alot of configuration trouble.... :rollside:

Thats cool Tom but I have to be careful of what I do cause I have wireless internet out here and I have to really watch what I do cause the interference will really screw up the performance of the wireless internet.
Here is a pic of the the way every thing is laid out.
The pool and hedge mess up the signal from the router to laptop at mom's so thats what I used the access points. The other access point in the office is cause of the chicken wire under the siding.

Elevation is everything when it comes to radio. esp. in the 2Ghz range where signals are severely affected by terrain obstructions.
It looks like you have a fairly large area to cover. Have you thought about elevated external antennas?
I would bet you could service the whole area with one wireless router if the antenna had sufficient altitude and gain. An omni directional antenna on the feedpoint (router) at about 30' AGL and unidirectional feed horns for the work stations.
Now that would be a fun project!
Omnidirectional (http://www.clubmac.com/clubmac/shop/detail.asp?dpno=7301954&store=clubmac&source=cwbfroogle)
Unidirectional (http://www.directron.com/wlehgdyg.html)

Yes I did.
Outside it looks just like a shed/hobby shop.

Inside its pretty plush.

The hardwood floors are really nice in it. I supplied the shed and the nephews did the inside. They needed a place to stay during duck season and didn't want to pay rent at a trailer park. The only thing they pay for is PG&E. And the best part is I'm always invited for duck dinners with them being so close.
