[QUOTE=Outlaw;2877094]I take it you purchased it without engine?
whats the plan now? big motor??[/QUOresTE]Yes no motor. Well I wish I could go with a "big motor" but for now i'll have to just go with my 11:1 460 bbc out of my 83 sleekcraft kauai wich is for sale:) It is solid 500 hp motor and that is all I can do at least till I sell both my sleekcrafts. I built it last summer and it only has about 40 hours on it. I was a little surprised how big the daytona was compared to my 19'6" sleekcrafts. I may have to drag it down to pueblo resevoir in two weeks just to try it out cause couriosity is killing me. It is a damned nice looking boat. Within a 15 month period I went from never owning a boat to having three jet boats in my yard(the neighbors love me, they will really love over transom headers)

I know what you mean about the long trip
of course I had some help driving and it was only 2200

on the way home.

I went by myself and maid it there in 18 hours made it back home in about 20. Spent close to 700 on fuel. My diesel Dodge doesn't get to good of milleage doing 85 into a head wind for 2400 miles.

I bet it was worth the trip now...I doubt I will have it ready this weekend but maybe the next. It is supposed to be 80 down at pueblo the weekend. I am completely overwelmed with boat stuff right now. I have the olds 455 that is ready to go back in my 76 sleekcraft so I can free up my engine stand for the 454. I really need to sell these two sleekcrafts.I need to pull the motor out of my 83 sleekcraft and reinsall it in the eliminator on top of figuring out all the wiring on this boat. He did mark everythjing pretty good for me. I also need to make the trailer toung where it will swing open so I can fit the whole thing in my garage. Diesel was 3.29 to 3.45 this weekend. If I make it I will take pics with or without ice.

It pulled well. Fuel went up a quarter in just 4 days? I was surprised how clean it stayed. It sure looks a lot better in my garage than yours;)

What did you have b/4 getting your 21' ?I still have two Sleekcraft 19'6" kauais I need to sell. A 76 with an olds 455 and Jacuzzi YJ. An 83 with a 454 and a Berkley jg. Both boats still have he original glass hoods. I pulled the 454 to use in my Daytona. I need to sell both boats. I went from wanting a jet to owning three. I am not bragging, I will loose quite a bit on the two sleekcrafts.

I bet it was worth the trip now...Well after reinstalling the olds in the 76 sleek and ppulling the 454 out of the 83 sleek I have just ran out of weekend and my ambition was bigger than reality. I'll be lucky to have it running by turkey day.

I don't like the hood look on the bow of the daytona but It is a damned nice looking boat. Your ringht about needing a 21 over the 19. I just can't put the time into it right now like I want. I have to stay married:)
