Long story short-
Funded the build for a good friend to get it going.
Friend had to take a mandatory state vacation for a short time.
So i want to get my money out. Boat is 08, new never titled sitting
in showroom.
Livorsi Shifter, Platinum Guages, Billet Package, Carbon fiber style white vinyl offshore interior w/cuddy cabin.
Tandem Axle Trailer, 5.7Merc loaded.
Have no need for a 23IO, would rather use my money to build a 21 jet.

I read a boat journal article the other day stating that the
yamaha VR230 was the most popular powerboat sold last year...wtf?
yah its a killer one time deal, i have a house in blythe so an IO Vbottom is worthless to me.
A case of a BRO DEAL gone BAD...ill post some interior pics tonight

Beaver retriever here on the boards had a 23' from lightning (Which I believe is the same hull) and I think he was in the low 60's.

That 5.7L motor in the 23 would concern me, do you have any speed numbers with that set up? I'm only guessing that the boat would be a slug with such a small motor, not bashing the boat is beautiful just wondering is all...
I'd venture to say that priced at 35 grand, there isn't a better deal anywhere for a similar quality boat. There are runabouts everywhere in that size range that are equipped with that power. I'm guessing it'll run around low to mid fifties. It sure wouldn't be a barn burner, but its 35grand!

Yep he had the 6.2 and I think he said it went just above 60 mph.
If the 350 is a MAG then mid 50's. If its just and Econo 350 then its going to be a high 40 mph boat.
Still a great deal and looks absolutely beautiful.

im just adding in the motor upgrade cost sheet-
496/B1 - $41,500.00
remember all merc motors go up around 2800 after Dec due to the new catalytic converters on HO and smaller motors.

Do they know what they are going to do about the 525HP yet for emissions?

I can still get a 383 which is over 1k cheaper than a 6.2
The HP525 will not be hit til the higher HP motors come under the CARB EPA RADAR.
I did hear that 09 will not have 496s and Merc will come out with a 6.2 blown motor? not sure if or how that will work as a replacement for the 8.1
35k for a 08 custom boat. I need to move it, have no need for an IO V bottom. someone is getting a deal.

Correct. My 23 ran right around 61 on GPS...
