I run a breather on 1 side, pcv on the other, but my motor is fairly tame.

Ditto - I was always taught that the PVC will suck out blowby at high RPM and then suck clean air in thought the motor via the breather at idle........ Always made sense to me and have never had a problem that was attributed to such a set up.

What kind of boat and headers? If you can use a pan-o-vac set up, that's the kind...

Not to hijack the original question, but what about an engine in a closed engine box? I've seen where the breathers are routed back to the carb, and understand the rational, but is there a better or more cosmetically appealing way?

The outlet side of PCV valve must go to a low pressure (vacuum) source, so the options are somewhat limited. I don't know if it would work well with the venturi tube of a pan evac system, or a PCV outlet, placed in a through transom exhaust system, that is a good question.

I need to do either that or a puke tank. I'm sick of cleaning oil off my transom.

The part I like is the negative crankcase pressure. Small leaks kind of disappear.
