Two years ago I saw a GN style hull that towed in the Catalina Ski race, all white hull with a super chiller'd, TWIN TURBO BBF engine and numbers 69 OR 069 on the side. Anyone know the owner and is he on this board? I have not seen the boat at the circle sprints in Long Beach the last two years...

Was the boat a jet with double intercoolers?

Wonder if it was Billy Masons Cyclone. That boat has a Casale gear box so that the pump is overdriven. I guess it would be a Z drive. Pretty cool deal.

I will have to dig out the pics and post them... I thought it was a v-drive but it may be a jet... I think it did have double stacked chillers come to think of it, fore and aft facing seats...
It may just be a cyclone...

Here she is...
I think he ran 698 at Catalina...
Boat 69 was Bill Dunsmore in 2005...

Cool set up but this was definately either 69 or 069. I will dig up some pics, I have several. Wellllllll, maybe that's it... What kind of outdrive set up is that?

Yup thats Billys boat. They test here locally in Mesa at Saguaro lake. His last boat was insanely fast and had zoomies on it. The pump is insane as well. He runs a fully adjustable rideplate.
Anyone have any pics of his pump setup???????

Looking at the pic of the V-drive-Z it appeers to have 3 gears.

Hey, is crane rental service (on the side of the boat) the same guy that I met who graciously came down two years ago and pulled the allison powered nostalgia boat off the rocks? Cant remember his name, is that the owner OR a sponsor of this boat?
I bet it is stupid fast!

Not the owner, I would guess that it was a one time sponsor for the race. Billy is an old friend. He and I raced both together and against each other.

Greg Foster(son) is a long time ski-racer who also is a champion mod VP and Grand Prix tunnel boat driver. He drives the red "Old Quaker Paints" boat for Wendt Bros Racing. He is a super nice, super talented boat driver

SO how insanely stupidly fast is this thing? It must be done right to withstand the race to Catalina and back.
I can't imagine taking that thing out 60 miles in open ocean after making the trip to Catalina in a 52' Carver.
