that does look cool but whatever get's put down will be varnish over. i figured a nice red to match his gel highlights would look good, then varnish over the entire inside.

I'd be worried about the black frying my feet in the summer and the silver frying my eyes from glare. .02

Overkill's bilge and the end of the floor. This area wasn't a huge
concern as it's covered by his back seat. As you can see in the
picture, James runs a belly tank. I think this made putting in a floor
a little trickier than normal. Very tight quarters between the stringers
and the edge of the fuel tank. We also built it so it could be taken
apart in case he ever needed to pull the tank for anything.

It was Jame's idea. I shot the white gelcoat, then he did the ol sling trick
with a stick dipped into some blue gelcoat. I was totally against it when
he came up with the idea and thought it would look hack. After it was done
I really liked it.
That was such a misadventure. First we were going to just pull the motor
and pump. Well hell since the motor and pump were out, why not re-do the
bilge, and make a new floor, and do a complete rewire, and have the rails
polished, pump powder coated, new battery box, new fuel pump and regulator,
repair the stringers, install new carpeting, and so on and so forth. We worked
on that thing for about 3 months after all was said and done.
Here's a picture of our womens putting up with us. Jame's wife on the left and
my honey on the right. I believe she's fixin ta flip me the bird.

Not to bad,Just alot of prep work first. It could have came out better, but i just wanted it done. Im about sick of working on this thing. Its almost done and I cant wait to hit the water. I don't care if its 40* outside.

It sure looks nice. With my motor out and the pump completely rebuilt, I should go ahead and redo some of the interior glass work that needs to be done. I don't want to pull the pump completely out so I would have to work around that. I may just hang the motor on the stand and cover it up and work the hull over. Winter is a good time to make everything as pretty as possible. So many things I want to do and all the ideas that come from you guys really gets a person to thinking.
FOURQ's colored Carbon/Kevlar sure would be nice in the floor. How would that flow coat work for filling?

Those pics of the nice gelcoated/flowcoated boats are awesome.
I'm always amazed at what a quality made boat looks
like inside. My Kachina and lots of other boats from that
era were not done well at all. My floor and stringers are
extremely rough and the inside of the transom looks like
a moonscape. Lots of them have absolutely no finish work
done to them at all. Just rough unfinished fiberglass.
I'm sure it could be filled in and sanded to be smooth and
I did a little work on mine, but the amount of hours it would
take to get it looking like these two would be mind boggling.
I don't think I would mind spending the time on it if it were
a different hull.
