Can't remember the name for the life of me, and it's probably been 20 years since I saw it, but as best as I can remember:
Late 1970's or early 80's? movie is about racing on Mullholland drive. A guy (I think he's a mechanic) who if I remember correctly drives a modified Porsche 914? that's primer gray or at least partially primer, with big assed fender flares, but it's been so long since I saw it I might be completely wrong about that. Anyway he races people and I think everybody wants to race him cause he's the king shit or something. I'm pretty sure some kids get killed or something and the cops are looking for him? I also vaugely remember something about a half naked girl in a denim shirt and some people smoking weed in a dark apartment, but that may just be a displaced memory from my college days.:D
Does any of this stuff ring a bell for anyone or am I the only dumbass that goes looking for obscure car/gearhead movies on ebay and amazon?
