Smith's record is unlikely to be broken for a long time in today's game of one star RB (no FB carries), defenses loaded up to stop the run, an avg RB lasts 3 years, a star can retire rich after maybe 8 years, the newest college guy comes out after 1 yr in college, RBs have to catch passes, etc.
