Catalina is always a cool little getaway. i don't know how the weather is this time of year, i'm guessing it's not too bad, and probably in off season rates right now.

My folks went here, kid friendly, pet friendly, the food was fantastic and the fishing was awesome.Gunnison CO is a beautiful area. Also check out Ouray Co. Natural hot springs and major 4 wheeling country.

Dreams Resort in Puerto Vallarta. They are the only hotel in the little cove it is in so the beach is all theirs and it isn't a big hotel either. Food is good which has been rare for me in Mexico. Rooms have a jaccuzi on the balcony and they all face the Pacific. About 20 steps from the hotel to the beach. 10 steps from the pool to the beach.
Call me if you want more info, I will hook you up with my agent in Texas. He scores some great deals and knows how to set everything up very well.

Or a 3-4 day cruise out of LA or San Diego. Programs for the kids to go do leaving time for you and the wife to do whatever.

Stay away from Florida. My agent booked my ticket to Orlando about 60 days prior and it was $700 round trip in coach!!!!!
This weekend the planes are frickin packed! I barely got on a flight 55-60 days in advance.

Rocky Point Mexico. You can drive from San Diego. Take the 8 west to Arizona South 85. Call AAA to get travel details and insurance.

Not very cheap and takes some time to get to, but I hear that Atlantis in the Bahamas I believe is supposed to be very cool. Please take me if you go :D

That would be about $10k-$11k for a last minute booking with 4 people. Probably $4k in airfare alone. Yes it is cool, but might as well go to Hawaii. Less expensive and easier/faster to get to. You can always catch last minute deals in Hawaii.

$12k is just a drop in the bucket for old WW with that hair dryer business he has going on ... :D
