Has anyone out there installed a thermostat kit on a 460 jetboat? I know it isn't right but I choke down the water from the pump and I struggle to maintain consistant water temperatures. I have thought of adapting the chevy thermostat/bypass set up to a custom piece to go to the ford intake. Before I start the spending I thought I would ask all of you. Any help would be great. Kevin

The only Thermostat kit to use on a Jet Boat would be the Rex Marine type Thermostat "Bypass" set-up. Is this what your refering to?

Hammerdown, are you refering to the chevy kit or the ford kit? I'm going to dig up the rex catalog right now. How well does your set up work?

i did some welding and machining to a rex chevy thermastat to get it to fit it does works good . you might want to check with mike at cp i was told they were making a thermastat kit for a 460 just like the chevy. i just could not wait and had to modify a chevy thermastat
maybe mike at rex if he might have some info. i will try to post some picts.

I've had some guys use them on fords by building a little adapter to move the housing out a little for clearence. You can't just bolt them on a Ford though. Functionally they work great on a Ford. :)

Thanks for all the help, I will contact CP and find out when they will be able to ship, 169 clams is a lot cheaper than a rebuild.

Hey Jet Boy, Why don't you look at my set-up ?? I installed a thermostat on my 460 and maintain a good water temp. I've been running this for about a year.
