Are you bringing some back for the Wicky Wicky Sushi Bar. Maybe this magical fish is the same kind Barney talked about in this article:
Ok, so I email Barney with a link to basically critique Wicky Wicky Sushi online.
I don't think I have laughed so hard in my life.
Here is the quote.
More than expected
written by Mr. Havasu Barney, September 06, 2007
The food was great.
The company at the sushi bar became as close as family.
Better than I ever expected.
Not only was the food and service great, my penis grew a solid 3 inches and I gained substantial girth after eating the special Sticky Wicky Rolls.
Since eating Todd's sushi, I am the life of every party.
Best ever food experience!

Cool pics, Wicky.
Were those ducks that were tagging along in the water? Did they eat all the tuna on ya's? :D

I just read the long range reports Rexy and the Royal polaris went to the Hurricane Bank on a 10 day. They are slamming the 200lbers and so is the Excel(My favorite boat). Amazing what a difference a week makes. I'm going 14 days next year. Maybe even in January.
Even without the tuna though, I still have enough Wahoo, Yellowtail, and Dorado to last for the year.:D Last trip out two years ago, I caught over 1000lbs of Tuna plus and addition 750 lbs of Yellows, Wahoo, and Dodos.
I just got off the boat and I'm already jonesing to go again!!!

Sounds like you had a great trip in spite of no tunas. God knows I've probably been on more mediocre and poor trips than good ones but that's just how it goes. Here's a little review of my trip of a lifetime back in 95 (post 39) (http://www.***boat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150218), and it was only a 4 dayer! I know I'll prolly never see another of that caliber for a single day. Wide open most the day. I was so friggin tired I could barely eat dinner.

Rex, That was a trip of a lifetime, I don't think anything would beat 'cept maybe a cow.:D
Fish the AA again, Sam Patella and Brian Kiohara bought it from the previous owner. They are the chit.

I fished the AA when the previous owner ran it and it felt like a concentration camp kinda. Fock that. Sansome I think was his name. Worst long range experience I ever had (and not the worst fishing).
I would try it again tho with Sam running (never have fished with Brian) it as I was on a trip he ran several years ago either on the Q105 or the Royal Star, can't remember which. Sam is a top notch fisherman and great guy. Jeff Debuys (sp?) was one I always had great admiration for too that ran the 105 for awhile, I think he might be on the RR now not sure. And Jack Webster but I think he's commercial tuna now. He's a great fisherman too as I'm sure most the current batch of captains are.
Are any of the boat's blast freezing filets now besides the 105? That made that boat very appealing as it eliminated all the fish cleanin except minor trimming of the filets when got home.

Dan Sansome the head (as in toilet) Nazi? LOL
Sam and Brian are way more laid back but not on the counts. Sam will chew the paint off the hull if he's not putting you on biters.:D I first met them on a Pacific Queen trip. I used to fish with the Old Man a lot and they bought the boat from him. They knew everyone's name on the boat in fifteen minutes and both of them gaffed fish whenever they weren't running the boat, we've been following them every since.
The top boats have refrigerated salt water (RSW) slammers now. Chills the fish to the core very rapidly but doesn't freeze it. Sushi grade all the way. No fish cleaning in Mexican waters anymore either so it's cut your own at home, have it processed or trade for already processed at the dock.
We're on a five day next June in search of BFT, it's the Shaker Tour Trip.:D
Great group of guys and perfectly normal............................................ well except for the anatomically correct inflatable pig and the porn dolls.:jawdrop:  :D

Now that was a stellar trip!!
Back at that time anyway the Qualifier was the only boat that would fillet and had a blast freezer on board to store the fish. Prolly more have that now. That was a big deal to me as I'd spent literally days cleaning fish from some previous trips that produced a lot and I really didn't have the time or desire for it any longer.
I can relate to that sooooooo well!! Talk about exhaustion. There were trips in the past where fileting wouldn't stop for 48 hours straight. In fact, my dad would pay for my trip if I fileted all the fish!!!
I'd rather pay than filet nowadays. I had Mike at World Famous do my fish this time. 5 star is the best if all the fish is RSW.
Best fish to date for me is a 631lb Blue off of Kona. It took 3.5 hours of fighting to bring her in.

I'm thinking your thinking about the brine system where it brings temps down to 0 or so. RSW is now that cats meow up to 7 days. Sushi grade!!

No it was a blast freezer, no brine, they filleted it bagged and threw it in the freezer right after each bite was over (or during slow bites). They'd bring it out in big tubs (frozen solid) after the trip and roll it up the dock right along with the brine froze whole fish to sort out. Each bag had your # on it. No fish heads, bones, tails... easy deal when you got home. I've not been out since about 2000 so I gather things have changed a little.
I can relate to the 48 hour fillet deals. A buddy and me brought home several trash cans full of frozen fish one trip and by the time we were done we were slingshoting pargo heads over the neighbors house just for entertainment. :D
All of those pre-freezer trips were at least a full day cuttin fish up, most times into a second day. Got tired of it.
