Saw this boat at the LA Boat Show a couple years ago. Sweet ride. May be a tuff sale due to the overall used market being the craps and the graphics - middle finger on the side and 'f&cker' on the deck. My .02.
Good luck with the sale!

Don't think too many boating families would want their kids to see that boat
you know, we have actually never once had anyone say anything bad or say that they were offended or kept their kids away from the boat. kids love the skulls and parents enjoy the craftsmanship of the gel. The boat definitely attracts a lot of attention and for the past 2 years for us, it has always been positive.

I saw it up close as well. Truly a beautiful boat! There sure is a mark up on this boat due to it being a "One of a Kind". Its gonna take the right person that really appreciates it, and has the money to pay 10's of K's more for a 27' Shadow.
only if you want to get told to F--k Off 149,950 times. Don't think too many boating families would want their kids to see that boat

Hear that CR. I guess its a matter of taste but some of the names I see on boats make me wonder what people were thinking when they named their boat. Do they have children or grand kids:idea: In this case I realize its done for the "shock" value and it was done for Jesse and thats cool, whatever floats your boat but for someones personnal boat it makes me wonder. Good luck, some young player will love it no doubt, very expensive trailer:jawdrop: NSF

Sucks John to see you sell it after reading through all you went through to make it right - Engine wise I guess.
I don't want my kids anywhere near it but that doesn't mean its not a sale-able boat. Big bitchen factor there.
Maybe get Ole JJ to buy it back?

My .02. I had the same initial thought when I first saw pictures of the boat. But after seeing and riding in it you quickly loose focus on the finger and f-u.
You truly get lost in the pure custom work and detail in every corner of this boat and trailer.
Not to mention the 620cid motor at the 6psi of boost has an insane amount of torque and idles like a stock motor.
My only question is what happened to the John West signature on the glove box:eek:  :D

Yes a very nice one off custom piece. John West and the team at all Ultra went over the top on this boat. The boat and trailer are unreal in person. A very expensive piece, but the trailer alone had to be close to 30K when it was built, plus all of the time in Gel Work.
Who in the hell cares what it says on the side or back! If you think the first time your kid is going to see the middle finger is going to be on the side of a boat at the river then you should hide them now, because I am sure they have seen you use the finger before.
And yes the motor is fresh because they did have issues with it. But why do people post "now that the problems are gone". It is a very nice custom boat, so what if the drive broke 40 times and it has had 17 motors in it. It now has a fresh motor and drive, that is what matters to the buyer.......... and no it has not had 40 drives and 17 motors.
Good luck with the sale John.

Funny story about the boat....When John and I were up in Tahoe earlier this year we had our boats tied up together earlier in the day and Johns boat was getting a lot of attention to say the least. Well later in the day I peeled off and went to a restuarant where I docked my boat. I'm standing next to my boat as I see two families (4 adults and probably 6 kids) running towards it yelling "thats it". As they approach the boat you could see the look of dissapointment in their eyes. They turn to me and say "sorry, we thought your boat was the skull and finger boat". .:D
Anytime I've been around this boat I've never once seen anyone make a negative comment about it.

looking at getting something with twin's. right now, we're considering either a DCB F29 or an Eliminator 28 Daytona. The new Eliminator design has me interested, so I'm headed down to SoCal with Grads tomorrow to check out the progress on the mold.
I was thinking the same thing. How did it get on that cover.....family. :D :D :D
You know, I've seen the article, or at least a blown up poster version of it, but I don't actually have a copy. Wish I had poster versions, but I have no clue how to get them for either Family & Performance or for the ***boat article...

I happen to care OK. If you dont then thats your business and I wont say anyything but I'm entitled to my opinion. Like I said the boat is very cool and the trailer is extreme to say the least, and I understand the reasons why it was done.
If you want to have words such as Pussy, Dickass, Mutha F---er, Blowme, whatever then go for it but understand this, when my 6 year old grand daughter asks about it and i have to try and explain the meaning, well you get the idea right! To me its just not in good taste but if it rocks your boat, whatever, just dont try to insinuate that its OK because your at the river. It takes all kinds. NSF

Go to this websie and look at featured vehicles. $149,000 is an average winning bid. Record bid there is $5 million

not really. I've had 3 or 4 fraud type of emails. You know, the type that say stuff like this: "Hi Seller, I am Beverly Collins by name, i am interested in purchasing your 2005 Ultra Custom Boats Shadow. Please get back to me with an update and the price you want to offer me for the price."
other than the couple emails, I've had 3 brokers call me and 1 other person who was only looking to spend up to $80k and hadn't even seen the boat, (a friend had told him about it).

hmmm, i think that could probably work out fairly well...but I don't really have a way to coordinate getting the boat out to Phoenix.

I was told that they did a show on the build, but the show was never aired. I am pretty sure that it took longer than a week to build this boat.
