I just got a new Blue Ray DVD player (samsung BD-P1400). Will this work on any TV or do I need to go buy a new tv to make it have the quality the blue ray is supossed to have? I have a Mitsubishi WS-A55 if that helps.
Thanks.

in order to get the full 1080P picture you will need a TV that is 1080P compatible the Blu Ray player will work and play but will not give you the full 1080P high def I beleive that model of TV only has Component inputs and if it has an HDMI input it is only capable of 1080I so looks like you need a new TV that is 1080P compatible it makes a big difference when you have a TV that is 1080p HIGH DEF compatible.

On the front of the tv it says HD1080 so I'm assuming that's what it means. (I don't really know anything about TV's) but tried looking for some info for it on the web last night and there wasn't much info I could find on that tv.

And on the back of my TV there is no input for the HDMI cable but it has two sets for the component in. I won this thing for free by the way.

Component inputs are only allowed to pass 720p/1080i for HD. The Samsung you just purchased is a nice unit, but you will not be able to play the BD movies in 1080p. I would not worry about it though, set it for 1080i which ever you prefer and enjoy.
