Would like to buy a squirt boat, What should I be looking for and or watching out for?
What would be a good deal?
What are good hulls?
what are good jets?
engines?
Diverters,Manual or Hyd?
Im thinkin late 60's thru 70's.
will be using it on mellow days in Havasu, so Im thinkin 18' or 19' atleast.
I think I would like logs and thru hull and exaust and an engine cover..
Any help or input would be great..
Thanks, Gary

If you are looking for an all around great Jet Hull and especially on Havasu I would recommend a 20-foot Spectra. I would look for around a '74 as they had full length stringers. This is a day cruiser and will handle chop in Havasu which comes up even on the mellow days.
Power: Big Block Chevy (stay away from an Olds) or Big Block Ford is cool too.
Drive: You want a Berkeley-Panthers and Jacuzzi's are harder to trick out
Add a Place Diverter and Droop Snoot and the boat will lift better and perform
Other Great Hulls:
Hallett Bubble Deck 19
Eliminator
Nordic
Hallett 20
Ultra
and of course my personal favorite-SCHIADA

Too old, too much, too slow :D
Preferably stay away from Olds. Doesn't mean you can run them, just some blow up. Try to stay with pumps like Berkely, Dominator

Went out onto the Delta today. Ran 63.7mph on GPS. Gotta love 'sea level'. Up on Lake Berreyessa, I can only get 61 - 62mph. What a day !!!
