You must have a GM truck of some kind. Right now my 2500HD goes 75 mph just sitting at a light. :D

No, I've got a Dodge Ram with the Cummins, it would take quite a boat to be faster than that, although, my boat goes pretty fast when it is on the trailer behind the Dodge.:)

Just got a speeding ticket [ $ 138 ] on the snailway [ stupid 55 mph limit here in canuckland  ] going 70 Friday night . Now if I did what my boat could do , it would have cost me over 200 bucks easily . .So I'm not going about to find out how much faster the truck is :) .

Haha...My truck was reading in the 115-120 range in parking lots:D Dealer took care of it for free. Very easy process only took a couple hours to install after they ordered the new cluster. 04 Chevy with a hair under 70K

Really? Is this a Chevy recall? Don't really want to pay $600 for a new cluster...

And the boat is faster on water than the truck is on water, however the boat on the trailer only goes as fast as the truck will go :D

I've got 70,700mi. Just got the letter. Go fu cking figure. Out of warranty.
I'll have to rely on 2100rpms for 55mph, 2300 for 65mph, and 2500 for 75mph.
I can't believe I got the notice two weeks too late!!! Fu ck.
Did I mention they sent the letter to my accountants office and I probably only had 69500 when the letter arrived.
It's only been broken for two years now!!

do you have a regular service advisor at a dealership??.....the same thing happened to us but he is taking care of it anyways :) the only thing that would happen to ours was that the needle would "jump" around a couple mph when getting up to speed. once it was steady there were no problems.

No, but I might be able to bribe them with some fresh sushi!!! This is the only problem I have had with this truck. Other than that, I think the dealer is kinda of like the doctor....if you go there they might find something wrong!!!:D :D :D

If you commute in heavy traffic I would not get it fixed. Wrapping the speedo in stop in go is very rewarding and a bit calming as well. :D
Mine has been out for about 6 months.
F'n GM. I never got any letter. Hey GM it's a speedometer. You have been doing those for a little while. Where is the practice makes perfect?:D

The GPS in my 25' Advantage Citation powered by a 496HO shows has a tattle tale of 82MPH. :jawdrop: It of course achieved that speed on I90 coming home after the purchase.:)
My truck is good for atleast 50MPH over my boat. With my budget(cost, upkeep, & insurance) and fuel costs I'm not picturing this situation changing. Above 60 my wife is screaming over the engine anyway.:D
