We use Cal Choice.
My thoughts would be to get it on a personal level first either on your own or through an agent. If you need to offer it to employees or can't get it on your own (previous health issues) then California Choice is about the only kick in town for under 10 employees.

You will have to go through an agent. There are many on here but I don't know who reps it.

Insurance agent here...
If you're self-employed, you'll have to do an Individual/Family plan (unless you have a corp). Any of the major carriers have many, many choices. Go to my website www.benefitprosinc.com, and you can shop and apply online with Blue Cross or Blue Shield, or send me your age, zip, and particulars and I can email you a pdf report to look at.
Cal Choice is good for small groups 2+ employees, but they charge an extra admin expense. You can get cheaper/better by going direct to the carrier.
Anyway, let me know if you have questions, etc.
Just my .02 :D
