i think i joined this place around 2001. i was rebuilding a '71 Rogers Cyclone at the time. Toddnjuzz did the gel coat and my friend Jeff and I rebuilt the trailer.
I just found these old pics of the boat on its maiden voyage to the Avi in Laughlin right after the work was done.
The trailer needed a new rear xmember, bunks etc. A light night of working in his shop, a 30 pack of CL, and the trailer ended up with air bags on it. not one of our brightest moments but it looked cool.

i learned a few things that day.
1. the trailer dragged on the ground with no air in the bags.

2. The steering rack can only be installed one way.
3. my trailer floated with air in the bags. :)

this is what it looked like with 80psi in the 'bags. the trailer didn't have leaf springs. we put a 3 link with panhard bar on it and a pair of shocks.
it wasn't the most stable thing to tow at 80 mph. :)

I joined around the same time and remember that boat well. It's been a lot of fun watching you and others here progress with their different boats over the years.
Will any of us ever grow up? :D

Boy, how many times have I heard that?
What a great looking project, how did it run?
Your one list about what you learned that day, could be put in the "Things I've done once thread" ;)
Great looking project/boat :)

its been sold several times since i owned it. i went and looked at it in corona about a year ago and the thing was trashed inside and out. looked like it had been ran over rock bars, banged into docks and left outside without a cover for god knows how long. i nearly punched the guy that was selling it because all my hard work went right in the toilet. i hope whoever has it now has taken better care of it. it was real nice when i sold it.

Mike, I remember your posts about this boat too! It really was a good looking boat, too bad it hasn't been taken care of. I know what you mean about your work going down the toilet!!!! that's sad to hear.

some good ol' times in the Cyclone for sure. I joined around '02 and had a Hallett Bubble Deck back then. Mike and I ran Blythe a few times in his Rogers and my Hallett. Good times for sure.
