Anybody tried air bags on a boat trailer.. I have a couple of really bad turns onto an uphill drive way and I SCRAAAAPE something fierce. Just about every boat that visits me does the same...
It sure would be nice to inflate high while I'm towing around town with driveways etc. Lower it a bit when on the freeway for nice tracking, then dump it when it's time to launch. The air bubbles would look pretty cool too, I think..
In case this is an original thought, and you take my idea and make a billion with it, you better remember me and comp me a freebie trailer...

Cyclone on here did it once and it worked bitchin. Used in cab controls and was also nice when launching as you did not have to back in as far and you could lay the trailer out and the boat would slide right off.

This may be a more practical method. Hollow rubber springs.
They make them for trailers and RV's.

They only work when ya need them.
I use them and swear by them.

Walt Ott has them on his dolley trailer with a four link type setup, he can pretty much drop his TFH on the ground to service it

Thanks for the post. But other than the trailer floats with the bags full and it wasn't stable rolling down the road. ( you can only launch once but it prolly won't matter, because you'll die on the drive out anyway), it's a good idea??
Damm.

I was looking for something that I could adjust "on the fly". It appears that it mightn't be a great idea. Something about unstable and floating trailers... Thanks anyway!

I built a bagged hydro dooly trailer and it goes down the road great. I have had it about 65 and towed great.

I think it was about 3 LA Boat Shows ago - but Extreme Trailers built a tandem dually trailer for a 30 Daytona with full air-ride also! It was sick and I heard it towed awesome.

This trailer is one of the sickest trailers out there. ;)

Read it again...unstable at 80mph. I don't know of a single axle trailer that WOULD be stable at that speed...and why on earth would you want to tow at that speed anyway? No need to hurry...the lake will still be there when you get there. :D
As far as the trailer floating with air in the bags, air down before you dunk it. No big deal.

I would ask cyclone if the bags had a common fill point. If they did, they would transfer pressure from one side to the other when swaying.
If you ran the lines separate, it would probably handle different.
