Beautiful deer, how awesome is that.
Great job, I have some awesome recipes, are you going to make any of the meat into jerkey?
The bucks in Colorado, where about in Colorado, the last time we were there hunting, was in north West and high in elevation, let me say I saw
some deer that would knock your shoes off.
Well Congrats to all and enjoy the meat.

How much did those cost? Did you shoot'em or did the guide pull the trigger?

I know where you're coming from on this one. We did a hunt in Maine about 10 years ago. You know, the hunting lodge, the guide, the way to take $1500 per person and guarantee a monster buck, yada yada yada. After the first day...F this, we're going home and hunting the way we always did it before, and it produces results.

I struck out on the Elk this morning. Late season archery without the snow is kind of tuff. Especially only 30 miles outside of town. I'll think I'll drag Havasu Barney out with me on Wednesday for the sunset hunt. Damn I need some Elk steaks.

The Game and Fish put up a mechanical deer on my buddies state lease property. Arrested three guys in two days. They take guns, trucks and anything associated with the hunt. The deer takes pictures every so many seconds. One guy even walked up to it to see why it wouldnt fall. He shot it like 5 times. The other 2 guys ran away quick but got caught anyways

Good looking animals there. I bow hunted in Illinois for 10 days late Oct early Nov and passed on several 120-130 class bucks but never got a shot at one of the big boys. I've been gun hunting here in TN on my place for the last couple of weeks and have seen a bunch of small bucks and lots of does. I've thinned out a few slick heads this week. Killed 6 this week for the freezer. Our deer population is just out of control. In the unit I hunt we can kill 3 does a day for for the entire 100 day season. Good luck to you for the rest of the season.

Yes the acids in the coke (and it has to be COKE) , makes the meat
tender, I usually soak int he morning until I get home from work, then I roll it in flour and spices and pan fry it real fast and hot, or I like to cut it
up and put in on sticks BBQ it with a terriaki sauce and serve it over rice.
There are so many ways or Pan fry it and use a rasberry sauce on it
wow that is good also.
I use it in stir fry, hamburger etc. I love venison and elk, but then again I
love water fowl also.
Good luck

Ditto. We don't buy any beef here at my house. I try to put at least 10 deer in the freezer every year to supply my hungry crew of 5. If I'm lucky I'll take an elk in Idaho and that is the best by far. Didn't get to elk hunt this year so stocking up on the venison. Good luck getting your elk.

Growing up in Oregon it was nice to just be able to buy a deer or elk tag and go hunt. Cali is a bit different. I haven't hunted big game in a long time. Just birds which isn't too bad. This year we are putting in for deer tags in Utah. Hopefully we get them. I miss it.

One question to all you people that took deer this year.
WHERE IS MY DEER JERKY? :D
That stuff is more addicting then crack... I know several people that have atleast 75% of the meat turned into jerky.
