I've put my motor in my 21' daytona, with setback. And it looks as though I will have to cut my collectors clear back to the 4" opening. Will that hurt my performance (semi mild 427bbc na) If I'm planing on adding mufflers, maybe the 4" opening will be a good thing I dunno:idea: :)

I'm not overly worried about clearance at this point, as far as engine performance there is no difference between 3.5" and 4" collectors. More isn't always better here right? Seems like most slide in mufflers are based on a 4" tip. So should I leave it 3.5 ?

No help yet? That is a tight fit. Someone on here has had to have some type of situation like that
So what do you think you are going to do:confused:

Well Sleeper I was thinkin I'd cut back to the 4" part of the collector. Unless that would hurt performance.

If it was me I would cut them off. add 4" tips and forget about mufflers, just make sure you get a tip with a no burn
flapper, if its too loud dump additional water in just before the tip. as far as performance most OT headers are
4" use a good heat resistant hose and the good turbo
style hose clamps. you will be surprised how much the water will muffle it.
