Have you taken a look at Playcraft? They are also a nice rig to consider and they move with an I/O. Just an alternative. J.C. and Bennington are certainly good stuff.

The only thing I dont like about the JC is that the drivers seat is placed so far back, its kind of a squeeze to get by the drivers/ rear seats to go to the rear of the boat. Besides that they seem nice, and my buddies does about 40 with a 225 outboard.

Good observation. I have a JC, and I don't know why they didn't move the helm up a little bit. Nice boat overall though.

What year is yours? The new Visionaire seat gives alot more room.
07' and 08' have this available.

I'd also suggest checking out the Premier tritoon as well. They have some features that I really like over the others. They are carried by Havasu Motor Sports just off London Bridge Road. Not sure of other places that carry them. Check out the video- http://www.pontoons.com/ptx_performance/
They also have some great sales going on now as well (probably like everyone else right now)

We've been supercharging the I/O's. Getting low 50's out of them. Fun as heck to drive!

My friend has a two year old Playcraft with the white out powder coated rails, 22', Honda outboard. Loves it and trouble free. He got a 175 which is fine for a 22', and he recomends a 225 for larger boats. Sips the gas acording to him.

 Why not throw a 496HO in and keep the reliability and run mid 50's +.
Ours runs 48 with a 350 mag and we almost ordered a 496 but now i'm glad we didn't,i find myself cruising 30-35 most of the time.
I'm pretty sure Playcrafts will run about 5mph faster than mine with the same setup.

Pontoons shake and shimmy alot. So pay attention the the hardware and how it and the seats are attached.

JC has tried the 496. Weighs to much.

Apparently you have not been on one of the newer tooners. Our Bennington is 10 times tighter than our magic deck. it has zero shimmy and is rock solid in rough water. I was very impressed.
