A friend of mine is thinking of selling his Sanger, but not sure what its worth. I thought posting some information in here to get some ideas would help. If any of you could give some input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris.
Here is what Johnny is: (please note that everything was rebuilt in 1998 and has less than 40 hours of running time since the rebuild). Its always been garaged and well taken care of.
'74 Sanger flat bottom (Bubbledeck) V-drive (black)/with Custom VM trailer (chrome fenders)
Drew Backlund (Drew Marine) built the engine. 1969 Nascar Boss 429, intake valves are 2.4 inch, 671 supercharged, duel Nascar 834 Holleys (new). easily 1100HP. The engine block was stamped by Holman and Moody as # 59 when they absorbed Ford's left over race engines in 1970. Engine is equipped with a fuel shut off in case of oil pressure loss. Mahogany floors inlays.
Andy Casale rebuilt the "Casale" V drive (gear box) in 1998, mid 30% overdrive. New prop, new seals on rudder, drive shaft, new gauges.
Seats reupholstered. New tires and rims, bearings and #10 spindle seals on axles.
Thanks for your help

I would probably ask for $50,000 and hold out for $40,000. I'm not saying people will break the door down (especially in this market) but less than that IMO would be a loss.

I think Jerrys got it 40.000.00 5-7K for boat and 30-35 for motor to a collector.

Yup, I wouldn't let it go for less than that. Unless it was to me...:D

Just using my sometimes convoluted thinking......
Unique Performance was getting close to $300K for their GT500 clones (back when they were in business.... :D ).
You could probably do a complete makeover of a '69 fastback including the running gear for $110K. Finding the right parts to make the engine correct for the car, another $40K.
The finished Boss 429 clone might bring around $275 or so.....
It would be cool if the boat stayed the way it is.....

Oh yesssssssssssssssssssssssssss, I just got wood! :D
The only thing I see wrong with it is that the blower is two sizes two small...
Last summer a gold shovel nose sanger with a 427 Cammer that was pristine sold on E-bay in the neighborhood of 45K, I would say that it is a good comp HOWEVER the economy may hold the price down a tad.

I just bought it for $400 but the guy wouldn't deliver it to me so I told him to shove it. Just try and get more than that in this market...:D Sweet ride....

Beautiful. I am not a Ford fan. But that thing is Awesome. I would put a tracking device on motor and boat. If they are not in the same place at all times, hunt the scum bag down and kick him in the junk. You may have to appologize if it is just at the engine shop for a freshen up though.

That's a very cool boat.
How does a Holman/Moody 427 medium riser compare dollar wise? My dad has one in a 64' Hallett. He has had the boat and motor since 64'. He's not looking to sell it, I was just courious what it's worth. Sorry for the hijack.

I would guesstimate a used running standard bore medium riser to be worth $6,000 to $8,000. Just a guess...

Come on Sleepy, buy it from your buddy and give it to Emily for a Christmas present. That thing is too cool to let these guys take it south from here......:D
Drop dead bitchin boat. Wish I could have seen it in person...

John, I'd love to buy it. But I'd need to add on to our living room and put a rotating floor so it could be on display. My garage isn't worthy of having that in it.
Plus there is the money thing. :D

Thats a good idea. I mentioned this to him. There has to be some collector out there that wants something like this. Hell, you can't have a shop/garage full of bad ass cars w/o a bad ass boat. Right?
