I couldn't get it due to the fact they did not reveal how many seats were on the bus. You need to know that so that you can calculate the number of legs on the seats!
Got it first try.:D

As a young child I put the cat in a pillowcase and tried to carry it around the house. From this experience I can tell you that any child who puts 14 cats in a sack isn't likely to have any legs afterwards. Therefore it cannot be sloved.:D

Got it right on the 6th attempt... was over thinking the damn thing... but my algebraic calculations looked good...
7(7(7(7x4)+(7x4)))+(7x2) was NOT the correct formula :D :D :D

Once I quit screwing around and took it seriously, it was easy. Had a couple of failed attempts before I dug out the paper and calculator.

This is how screwed up I am. Got it wrong twice at my desk with a note pad and calculator. 10 minutes later I was driving down the road and did it with the calculator on my phone and memory, no note pad.

Each rucksack has 56 cats, each kid has 392 cats, the bus has 2744 cats, the cats have 10,976 legs + the kids have 14 legs.
