I put a bid in on some repair work at one of the Casinos a while back and found out today that they gave the contract to a “Minority Contractor.” I never herd of such a thing? I guess I’ve been living under a rock all this time. Even worse his price was higher than mine! I call my mom and asked her if I had any minority in me! :confused: No such luck.
I guess the Casino gets some kind of tax break or something? WTF :mad:

Put your company in wife , or even your moms name , you supply the license . Now it's owned by a minority

It wouldn't be minority it would be woman owned.
Minority and Woman owned business get a step to the front of the line in the business world these days. Special grants, contracts, etc. It's not fair in my book but it is the way of the world we live in.

YEP happens with college loans and grants also

Welcome to the real world, obviously your new to the trades, this practice has been going on for many many years. Have a bro that had a Mexican wife, put the business(s) in her name, they were a shoe in on most jobs!!!

Those VIP room ladies aint cheap. I've probably paid tuition on a few Ivy league educations at this point.

In Ca. woman and minority are the SAME THING when construction bids are involved. They call it MINORITY AND WOMEN IN BUSINESS FOR A REASON.
Get the wife or sister on the co.
Small business enterprises
Disadvantaged business enterprises
and the MWBE as mentioned.
Something for everyone in Ca.
Even have a section for VETERANS who are co. owners.
Not that hard to figure out
