Everyone......Unemployemnt at one the lowest points in a long sustaied period, DOW growth through the roof, New business opening and opportunites due to the tax cuts, what else can be done.....one of the bigest problems with the economy is over anxious lenders giving loans to everyone and beyond their means and stupid people seeking them out and defaulting............Is that Bush's fault? I would not even blame Pelosi as much as I hate her.......

Historically the ecomomy tanks in cycles. So historically who is at fault?
My opinion is human nature. Greed. Before a tank, everything gets driven out of reality (boom), then comes back to reality (tank).
However in this case it may go deeper. I think you may have to ask who started and who continued to encourage US manufacturing business moving offshore by creating government policies encouraging it along with outsoursing? (much to do with greed for the short term in exchange for trouble in the long term).
Who allowed and encouraged continued illegal immigration to help run our governments at all levels towards bankruptcy? People who were US citizens did these jobs before the influx of illegal Mexicans so I don't buy that argument.
Who created and continues to support bullshit foreign aid to countries that would just stab the US in the back given the opportunity? Wasting of billions over time in many cases.
I don't see any one clear cut answer to that as it's been occurring for many many years now covering several presidents and several congresses both dem and rep. And I think there are factors here not present in prior historical down cycles. The result of the tank may be the same or may prove to be much worse than history would predict.

And that is what scares the shit out of me.

I agree with everything Rex said, but need to add to it.
We the people are.
We continue to elect self-serving scumbags who don't give a tinkers damn about this country.
We the people are.
We have not yet shoved term limits down the throats of the U.S. congress, and having not done so, continue to re-hire losers who have proven over and over again that they have no business whatsoever in public service.
California Attorney General Gerry "moonbeam" Brown comes to mind" WTF???
About 80% of the Senate comes to mind.
We the people are.
We don't show up at the poles. Perhaps the TV channels should be forced to go off the air for three months prior to election day, all video games rendered useless, etc. Maybe people could be shaken out of their doldrums long enough to get educated about the issues and focking VOTE!
We the people are.
We let crap like NAFTA happen. We let this disaster on our so-called border morph into what it has. Bush didn't do it, Clinton didn't do it, Reagan didn't do it, but they all didn't do anything about it, either. IT IS TIME WE DID.
We are either asleep, guilible, or don't give a damn.
Clearly, not enough of us are concerned enough about our country to care a whit about what happens to it. Those of us here do, for a variety of reasons.
Reaching the great mass of blinder-equipped citizens and convincing them is the trick.
The vast majority of citizens in this area only know one way to get from their homes into "town". How the hell do we get them to think beyond their noses, and if we do, can they?
THAT scares the hell out of ME.
