Visa Getting Ready to go Public.

One of my clients is a big wig at Visa. He just gave me a heads up that Visa is planning to go public before the end of the year.

Why would a company like Visa want or need to go public? Just a question but seems a little odd.

Because Mastercard did it and has done very well as a result.
