Ladies and Gentlemen,

Raced him in the semis. He was on his game. I cut a .11 light and ran 9.03 and got beat solid. He doesn't fire the boat until his number comes up,No neutral so he fires it and goes. Pretty good reaction times for what he has to do in my opinion.

PE was equally tough judging the qualifing numbers.

In the middle of the class, 4 ran .07. It gets tough when they have to go to the 3rd digit to get qualifying position. MOJO 316 is Jim Dunn from Tn. He is dialed in. I get to race him. Nice guy.

I found it quite amazing the guy could start in gear on the holding rope and be that good on the lights. Human reaction times are one thing...which stroke the motor is gonna fire on is certainly another.

that's a pretty amazing starter. i'd be so late if i tried to start and just go.

i did that once in a final after the shifter broke in the semi... no time to fix it, had to do something. had it dialed, except forgot to consider the time it took to shift - red lit by 0.02...
jim dunn is very good at what he does, but when final round competition forgets to turn on his air bottle, makes it a little easier. jeff had some pretty good numbers all weekend too, until that happened...

Jim Dunn is always a tough competitor in that outboard. I think he's ran an 8.40 with it...talk about a fast clamp-on! He's also part owner of a ProMod that he got his license in this past year.

making excuses for the bigblocks:D
His fuel injection is dialed allowing crisp instant in gear starts also helps that he is ussing at least 24 or more volts for cranking
mid eights with 153 cu inch without spray is bringing it:eek:
Jim has won championships in T/E with saint Louis dragboat assoc
What is up with the new avater:confused:

not at all, just stating fact. i don't think anybody was more po'd at himself than jeff was... (oops, i forgot; sorry:D ).
in any event, it -could- have been a good final as jeff has won several championships himself, which is not taking anything away from dunn, although it was his worst r/t of the weekend...

i don't know... he did what he had to do and jeff didn't, so jim won. stuff like that happens occassionally.
yes that is brett following me in the avatar  which was the year you didn't make that nice easy drive... and i slept in the duramax motel:D
