I have my eye on a 1972 18 foot Eliminator, 454 30ish over, basset headers, plus other stuff. It is emaculate <sp>. It has a Drake pump and I am not familiar with that brand. I am used to driving a stock '78 19.5 foot Hawaiian 460 berkley c pump. That runs in the low 60's. The Eliminator just blows by it. I'm guessing low 70s. Any info on Drake and any price range I should be offering?

Sounds clean! Post some pics and then we can give a more accurate price range. Right now since it is getting towards winter you should be able to buy a boat cheaper. My friend has a 1972 19 foot Hallet for sale with a 454 Chevy with full roller valvetrain, tunnel ram with two 660 carbs, Basset Headers, Jacuzzi pump with manula diverter. It is a clean boat with over 500 hp.

well drake is no longer in buss. but there are a cupple of people that might have old parts laying around. from what i have been told there are two types one with up down nozle and the others you are screwed! the boat might be good but the drake isnt a great pump. i would wonder if that might be the reason this guy is getting rid of it, also there was a couple of hulls made by elminator that had some problems i dont know for sure which one it was, but i know it was 18' i would ask around about that! other wise its a good boat . dose this boat have cavitation plates on the back?

I had a 1976 18'with a Drake Pump on it the place that built them was in Huntington Beach at the time which was right around the corner from me at the time. I use to go over and talk to them because I wasn't happy with the Top End Performance of the Pump they told me they were originally designed for larger Day Cruiser's because they put out such a high Volume of water which would Help get them out of the hole faster but they still lacked performance on top end. They recommened me putting a reducing nozzle which help me some, but then later on I had the Pump worked by Super Jet and they did some bowl work which helped alittle more.I sold the boat back in "83" and jumped ship over to the V-Drive's :D
Good Luck
Steve

I know where you can step into an award winning metal flake boat with a Dominator, Berk droop and 454 for 5800. Contact, oh hell what's that guys name, oh yeah, me by email or PM or check the thread in Just Jets. Turn key, no dicking with it to make it right cause it already is.

Really nice boat, I like the back seats. I would think $4000.00 would be a good price, since you are most likely going to change the pump out.
