Description
The Receptionist serves as the initial, on-premise greeter at an Ernst & Young site, providing information services and direction to employees, customers, guests and vendors. This individual projects a courteous and patient image in person and over the telephone, and responds with skill and courtesy to heavy surges in workload.
Responsibilities
Serve as the initial point of contact for routing internal and external calls at an Ernst & Young site, providing information services and direction to employees, customers, guests and vendors. Project a courteous and patient image over the firm’s telephone network, responding with skill and courtesy to heavy surges in workload. Provide customer-focused information services, and greet and direct guests.
Greet all Ernst & Young personnel, customers, guests, and vendors while projecting a positive, professional image.
Log in guests, customers, and vendors and inform Ernst & Young staff of their arrival.
Understand emergency procedures and act as an extension of daytime security and property control.
May handle incoming package deliveries; maintain maintenance requests logs and other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must have:
a high school diploma, or equivalent work experience
approximately 1-2 years of reception-related experience
exceptional customer-service skills
ability to work and complete assignments using MS Word and Excel
outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to effectively interface and team with personnel at all levels
business maturity, a positive attitude and a professional demeanor
considerable tact, discretion and integrity to effectively interface with personnel at all levels internally and externally, including the ability to handle information of a highly confidential and/or sensitive nature
This professional must also be available for overtime as needed, and have an excellent prior attendance and punctuality record.
