I heard/read several months ago that the 2008' Chevy trucks would have the Cadillac 6 Speed automatic transmission in them.
The Chevy website does not confirm this.
True or ?
Also, wonder why the Cadillac has a 403 hp 6.2 ltr engine and the Chevy only has a 6.0 ltr 367 hp engine being that there would be more Chevy trucks towing needing power over the Cadillac.
With that engine, it would shut up the Toyota commercials.

I doubt the Cadillac engine would have enough torque (power) for the truck. More HP doesn't always mean more power.

the cadi has variable valve timing making more hp's.

Cadillac:
Engine, Vortec 6.2L Variable Valve Timing V8 SFI, (403 hp [300.5 kW] @ 5700rpm, 417 lb-ft of torque [565.4 N-m] @ 4300 rpm) (L92)
Chevy:
Engine, , Vortec 6.0L Variable Valve Timing V8 SFI, with Active Fuel Management, (367 hp [273.7 kW] @ 5500 rpm, 375 lb-ft of torque [506.3 N-m] @ 4300 rpm)
Transmission:
Cadillac
Transmission, , 6-speed automatic, heavy-duty, 6L80E, electronically controlled with overdrive and tow/haul mode (MYC)
Chevy
Transmission, , 4-speed automatic, electronically controlled with overdrive and tow/haul mode (M30)
Being that I do not tow a boat, seems that the 6 speed would probably give better acceleration and fuel mileage.

I would think the reason no 6.2L in the Chevy is cost... Hope this helps Jay 714 552 0300
