When he was younger Bobby Hewitt did work for Cole and it was common for him to glass one of his cards on the underside of the deck of boats he worked on ..... and yes, Hewitt Custom Boats is Bobby's Company. He's located in Mesa, Arizona @ (602) 463-1895. Note that here a few months ago Bobby was in a very bad automobile accident and is still recovering so he's sometimes hard to get on the telephone.

Why would you trade that for a jet boat???? Kinda going backwards aint it?
Post it up for sale then take the cash and go buy 10 jet boats.

Looks like a Cole TR4 to me.... nice looking boat take some pictures of the motor plates just more pictures of the inside. If it's a TR4 it worth 5 times what any jet boat is worth.. Are you F'ing crazy... Sell it don't trade it..

Looks very nice. Best bet would be to get hold of Hewitt as he may know the story. Lot of boats were titled "homebuilt"...that means nothing.
Most these boats have a history....somebody knows it somewhere.
Regardless.....you got a nice ride there. Heavy boat...not a problem....why they make blowers and alcohol. :D

I have seen another boat labeled the same way. It was owned by Bernie Iven of Texas. It is all white and hauls ass. It has run 7.80s in Marble Falls Texas in the heat. I think he is a membe of ***boat so maybe he will chime in.

It's rigged just like both of my Cole's.. motor plates battery tray everything.... there was a white TR4 in Cole's shop for the longest time. I some what remember Cole at the end telling me something about not being able to make flat-bottoms any more because of insurance and liability. So maybe that's why its Registration is 1988 Texas homebuilt. Just speculation... Very Nice Boat I'd Love to Own It ....

Cant you put a smallish skier type bench seat like my Sanger Hydro has in it? Mine fits ME, wife and one child just fine OR is the v-drive in the way?
Very cool boat fosho!

Definintly looks like a TR-4, that deck is the coolest one out there for a flattie!! Very nice boat, indeed. Man, I'd resist changing it to fit a family though, it's not really made for that. I tried it with a Kurtis 500; moved the motor back, put back to back buckets and tried to use it as a family ski. To small, to low in the water, no room for skis/ice chests...
IMHO, the best flattie for that is a 19' Sanger Family Ski..
