Interesting timming on this...
Friends of the Earth have filled suit with the EPA to ban all leaded aviation fuel. The EPA has a NPRM on it right now.
One of the few things missed in the article though... the only plant in the entire world left producing TEL... is in England. So Europe didn't walk away from TEL after all...

When I worked at vo-tech teaching A&P school found it headed for auction. ordered 50 octane from Sonoco and it would knock like hell. //could tweak the ignition timing on the fly.
Should have nabbed it when they layed me off. :D
