Just curious what others would consider maximum RPM on a 460. Relying on factory balance, of course. And by max RPM, I mean at a steady rate, cruising speed I suppose is what I would call it. Not terribly concerned with short bursts of full throttle, but if anyone has an opinion on that, I'd like to hear that too....Thanks!

About 100-200 rpm before it becomes an external combustion engine. Sorry, just had to! :rollside:
I think factory was 4500-4700 rpm??

My dads cruiser spins 5k all day, it is a stock motor with mild cam and intake.

I HAVE A EAGLE ROTATING ASSEMBLLY SO I THINK ITS A LITTLE LIGHTER THAN FACT. BUT I SPIN MINE UP TO 5500 ON A FAST CRUISE AND IT HITS 6K WITH THE HAPPY GAS.I RAN THE STOCK BBF FOR 2YRS ON 150HP SHOT AT 5700 ALL THE TIME. I'M A GM EMPLOYEE AND I LIKA MY BIG FORD! YOU CAN LAY THE THROTTLE DOWN ALL DAY ON EM AND AS LONG AS YA DON'T OVER REV IT,IT'LL JUST TAKE THE ABUSE. :crossx:
