Yea freezing rain all over everything except the streets.
Breaks the trees and power lines.
Does not happen very often here but when it does it really sucks when the power goes out.
No power at the house but power here at the shop. The view across the street.

It was an obstacle course getting out of the neighborhood. Trees bending over into the street or broken off into the street.

I saw this happen in Dallas once about 1988 or 1989. Closed down the entire
area for a week. Mother Nature sure humbles us when she chooses to.

You should call the power company and complain... loudly and often... use lots of swear words... this gives the crews more motivation to work faster, and lets everyone down at the office know you really care...
:D
That's one thing I'm so glad to have never dealt with... snow tearing down power lines is one thing, but the destruction that comes with the ice storms is something else...

LOL.....call the power company.....:D
Fortunately for us the storm has stalled out around the Red River......
Stay safe up there, Info.

We've been getting freezing rain for the last week, but supposedly the ice storm that's going to hit tonight will make last weeks look like nothing.
Poor Celica isn't going anywhere for a while. Looks like snow doesn't it?

I just got a call from my gf who lives in Tulsa. She said last night was horrible - lines down everywhere and it didn't trip the breakers so there were little fires all over her neighborhood. Her neighbors house accross the street one house up burned - 2 hrs after 911 call fire dept made it. But, was way too late for their house, but did save the ones next door. Also sounds like power is out in most of the city.
Be safe!

Stillwater lucked out, but all the family around the Miami - Vinita area is hurting. Miami was totally without power yesterday. Wal-Mart and Braums were on backup generators, and Wal-Mart was about the only place you could get fuel. They were lined up for hours. My folks are plugged into their neighbor's generator for a light and to keep the refrigerator cold. The neighbor had to give up after three hours waiting to get fuel, so my Dad took the cans in his old truck to an indian truck stop over by Seneca. No lines and it was cheaper. They expect to lose every tree in town. Just to get the traffic to move, they have front end loaders pushing paths through the streets. My Dad had his trees pruned after last January's ice storm that took out his carport, but it was even too much for them.
2007 is going to be a year that the Miami area does not forget. Two major ice storms, including the worse in state history, and the worse flooding in state history.

Sure, that's a great lake view and all, but when you go to take the dog out during the next ice storm and wind up in the lake, I bet it won't seem quite so worthwhile.:D

Power went out out the house Sunday night. Just now came back on.
Bought a generator on Saturday just in case. Stocked up on food also. Turned out to be good planning.
Posted that pic on Monday from the shop. Power went out there not long after. Not planned to be back on till Friday some time.
